One of the wildest natural areas in Catalonia, its diverse landscapes range from the green meadows and lush forests of the Boumort and Carreu mountain ranges to the steep cliffs of the Collegats gorge. Birds of prey and mountain birds abound and the Boumort mountain range is the only place in Europe where all four species of European vulture can be found. In autumn, the bellowing of the stags is another great natural spectacle.

Minerva Sellés has set up these hides in Vallbona de les Monges to allow birdwatchers to observe and photograph various species of birds at very close range. She also offers idyllic rural accommodation in peaceful surroundings (Cal Baster).
The Alinyà Mountain is the largest private estate in Catalonia. It belongs to the Catalunya – La Pedrera Foundation and offers activities managed by the company Auberria, including “Eating with vultures”, to watch these scavengers feed, and “Guard for a day”, to get closer to them. A photographers’ hide is also available.
Rutes Muntanya offers half-day birdwatching tours in the Ebro Delta’s most representative habitats. The tours follow the delta’s labyrinth of paths, and combine birdspotting with explanations of features that go unnoticed by casual visitors: firework storage huts, drains, pumping stations, natural filters, traditional fishing methods, etc.

This spectacular facility provides exclusive access to the Alfacada lagoon for birdwatching, special ornithological activities and guided tours (360º viewpoint, Espai Delta, etc.).
This initiative is based in an abandoned village that has now been restored for ecotourism, with photographers’ hides, photography courses and workshops and a rural home offering tourist accommodation (Casa Felip). The hides overlook a feeding station, allowing photographers to capture spectacular images of golden eagles, bearded vultures and other scavengers.
