One of the wildest natural areas in Catalonia, its diverse landscapes range from the green meadows and lush forests of the Boumort and Carreu mountain ranges to the steep cliffs of the Collegats gorge. Birds of prey and mountain birds abound and the Boumort mountain range is the only place in Europe where all four species of European vulture can be found. In autumn, the bellowing of the stags is another great natural spectacle.

This feeding station for birds of prey located in Tartareu has two fully-equipped and well-camouflaged hides from which birdwatchers can closely observe and photograph the main species of scavengers. The purpose of the feeding station is to protect, promote and exploit wildlife, and to preserve their ecosystems.
The aim of this project, led by the Espais Naturals de Ponent association, is to convert old dry stone huts and shelters into observatories for wildlife, especially birds. So far, two structures have been restored with new viewing windows, one in Castellserà and the other in Preixana. Preserving cultural heritage through birdwatching tourism.
A team of ornithologists with in-depth knowledge of birdlife. They offer half-day and full-day tours in Terres de l’Ebre, to discover the birds that live in natural areas such as the Ebro Delta, the Montsià mountain range and Els Ports. In this nature reserve, managed by SEO/BirdLife, work is being done to demonstrate that organic rice farming is compatible with the recovery of natural wetlands. It contains an elevated hide with superb views over a lagoon, as well as a visitor centre built in a traditional hut.
