There are unique treasures to be found along the length of the River Ebro. One of the least known, perhaps because of the greater fame of the Ebro Delta, is the Sebes and Flix Meander Wildlife Nature Reserve. This natural oasis contains a great diversity of habitats (wetlands, reedbeds, riverside forests, river islands, etc.) with great facilities for spotting birds, including the kingfisher and numerous migratory and wintering species.

This organisation promotes conservation, research, awareness-raising and responsible tourism. It offers several hides where photographers can observe birds of prey (in Torrebesses), the black wheatear (in Batea, Les Terres de l’Ebre), sparrowhawks (also in Batea) or aquatic birds (in Flix), as well as photography safaris in the Ebro Delta and the Secans de Lleida drylands.

They manage several fixed and temporary hides, specialising in birds in high mountain areas (such as the Casa Daniela hide for observing scavengers), hills and drylands. They also carry out projects to conserve endangered species.
This initiative is based in an abandoned village that has now been restored for ecotourism, with photographers’ hides, photography courses and workshops and a rural home offering tourist accommodation (Casa Felip).
