This area contains a mix of cereal crops, barren and fallow land, with an area of naturalised wetlands where three bodies of water meet, resulting in a very diverse mosaic of habitats. The Utxesa reservoir is a unique refuge for more than 200 species of birds, both migratory and resident, and is especially notable for its population of reed-dwelling birds.

Birdwatching trips with English guide Steve West and his wife Florinda Vidal, who have been organising birdwatching trips in different parts of Spain for over twenty years. They have detailed knowledge of the most fascinating sites and the birds that inhabit them.
This initiative is based in an abandoned village that has now been restored for ecotourism, with photographers’ hides, photography courses and workshops and a rural home offering tourist accommodation (Casa Felip). The hides overlook a feeding station, allowing photographers to capture spectacular images of golden eagles, bearded vultures and other scavengers.

This feeding station for birds of prey located in Tartareu has two fully-equipped and well-camouflaged hides from which birdwatchers can closely observe and photograph the main species of scavengers. The purpose of the feeding station is to protect, promote and exploit wildlife, and to preserve their ecosystems.
