Beyond the steep mountain ranges that border the Terra Alta (Els Ports, Pàndols and Cavalls), the landscape of this region is predominantly agricultural, mainly vineyards, olive and almond trees, alongside managed forests, with a rich cultural heritage of dry stone architecture. This landscape mosaic, dotted with drystone cabins and terraces, is the ideal habitat for a great variety of Mediterranean birds.

They manage several fixed and temporary hides, specialising in birds in high mountain areas (such as the Casa Daniela hide for observing scavengers), hills and drylands. The Alinyà Mountain is the largest private estate in Catalonia. It belongs to the Catalunya – La Pedrera Foundation and offers activities managed by the company Auberria, including “Eating with vultures”, to watch these scavengers feed, and “Guard for a day”, to get closer to them.
